Desktop Calendars – Practical and Attractive

Filed under: desk top calendars — Tags: , — admin @ 9:15 am

Desktop calendars can be found in just about every office in the country. Some offices may still use wall calendars, but they will often have a desktop calendar too, as it offers a better experience when the current date is needed in a hurry. Desktop calendars usually have peel off dates. Each one contains the details of a single day: the date, the day of the week, the month and the year. They are usually of high visibility with large numbers in high contrast colours for quick and easy reading.

Desktop calendars are usually mounted on an apex easel that is especially designed for holding the calendar. The easel is usually much larger than the calendar cards, and this allows there to be a space, usually on the right-hand side of the easel, where text of some sort can be placed. This is usually advertising, and can be the company name, address and contact details. It can also include a logo or other type of graphic.

The desktop calendar cards each represent a single day on most models. They are usually punched with two holes on the top side. This allows the cards to be threaded on to two corresponding pins attached to the calendar easel. With each new day, the calendar card from the day before can then be easily removed and discarded. This makes the process easy for any busy executive or busy secretary. As the calendar only shows one single day at a time, it is easy to read and there can be no confusion with other dates as no other date is showing.

Desktop calendars take up a very small space on an office desk. The apex easel is little more than a folding sheet covered in PVC, usually. It folds out into an apex “A” shape, which allows it to stand unaided on the desk. It can easily be folded away for storage too should this be required. Desktop calendars are available in a variety of sizes with a variety of print areas. Printing is usually offered in a single colour, but can also be in full colour, and can use all the available printing techniques as well.

The desktop calendar has become ubiquitous in the modern office. It offers a simple and easy way to tell the day’s date, and it is easily updated as each day unfolds. The printing are of the apex easel that holds the calendar provides a useful advertising space. Desktop calendars can be given away as useful gifts complete with their built-in advertisement, making them a useful marketing device as well.

Make a Date with Desktop Calendars

Desk top calendars are to be found in just about every office in every country of the world. Those who work in an office invariably need to know at some point of the day or week what the date is, or what the date will be on a particular day the following week or month. The simple answer is the desk top calendar, and as well as providing an accurate way to tell the date, this useful item can also serve as a highly effective marketing and advertising promotional device.

Desk top calendars come in many shapes and sizes. However, a common type of calendar designed for a desk is the one that forms an inverted “V” peak, which allows it to remain standing unaided. The calendar part is on one side and often takes the form of a stack of cards with the day, month and date printed on them. The cards can be removed, one past day at a time, when each new day arrives.

Sometimes the date cards are held together by a strip of glue along the top of the stack. This allows each past day to be peeled off easily and discarded. In other designs the cards all have holes, usually just two, punched just under the top edge. The cards in this design are usually held in place by being threaded on to two protruding pins. The pins are usually thin and can be bent over to hold the cards in place, and bent straight again to release old date cards.

Desk top calendars of this type form a kind of booklet before they are erected so as to stand and be read on a desk. It is by opening out the booklet that the calendar can be made to be free standing and easily read at any time. The cards that have the day, month and date printed on them usually only occupy a small part of the entire item. This leaves a generous space where a printed message and logo can be placed. In this way, desk top calendars can be highly effective marketing promotional devices, given away by companies to customers and prospects just before New Year.

Desk top calendars are needed in every office. This presents an excellent opportunity to provide this essential item, and also do a little promotional advertising at the same time. A business can have its own desk top calendar printed with its own promotional message and company logo to be given away free just prior to New Year.
